After a few years in hiatus, GMA Network’s film outfit is back in the game with a heart-warming movie about the values of life, marriage, and love that will always lead you home.
Entitled Family History, the film which is a co-production between GMA Pictures and Mic Test Entertainment, is written, produced, and directed by multi-awarded comedian and content creator Michael V.
“I realized it wasn’t easy. I thought at first it would be easy. When we started, that was when I saw the problems coming in, like the location. But with the help of everyone, we were able to do it,” shares Michael V who marks a milestone in his career by wearing many hats for a project.
The big screen project also stars Dawn Zulueta, Miguel Tanfelix, and Bianca Umali, with the special participation of Dingdong Dantes and multi-awarded comedienne and TV host Eugene Domingo.
In the movie, Michael V takes on the lead role as Alex Dela Cruz, a happily married man who finds himself at a crossroad in his life when a life-changing disease challenges his marriage to his wife, May, portrayed Dawn.
“Love, respect for one another. You still make an effort for our partner. I think that’s important, that you keep the flame alive. Aside from having quality time, it’s important that you also really make the time for your family. They’re only children for the 10 percent of their life, then 20 percent as young adults. It’s a very short period,” the returning Kapuso actress says of the valuable lessons moviegoers can learn from the film.
The cast and the people behind the film are optimistic that the audience would have a takeaway and appreciate the message imbedded in Family History’s plot. Michale V, for instance, is positive that the trailer alone would already pique the interest of moviegoers.
“Although the trailer doesn’t give much of how the story would unfold, it offers the audience something to pique their interest. I believe I know my audiences, they are my captured market. But for those who are not my audience, hopefully, we can capture them, too,” Michale V states.
Also part of the stellar cast are John Estrada, Paolo Contis, Nonie Buencamino, Kakai Bautista, Ina Feleo, Mikoy Morales,Nikki Co, Jemwell Ventenilla, and Vince Gamad.
Family History unspools in cinemas nationwide on July 24.
