Operatives of Police Station 10 in Kamuning received a telephone call from a concerned citizen on an alleged hand grenade explosion at about 12:40 a.m. Thursday in front of the Korean restaurant along Scout Tuazon Street corner Timog Avenue in Barangay South Triangle.
Police immediately responded and relayed the information to Explosive Ordnance Disposal and K-9 teams. Investigators recovered one safety lever, one striker spring, and fragments from the body of a MK-2 fragmentation hand grenade. No one was reported hurt.
According to Esquivel, a witness said he heard a loud explosion, and when he came out to verify it, he saw an unidentified male wearing a black T-shirt and ball cap casually walking along Scout Tuazon toward Scout Madriñan.
