Immigration agents arrested a Korean national wanted by authorities in Seoul for swindling a compatriot of more than 200 million won or equivalent to more than P8.8 million for an alleged non-existing movie project.

Arrested was identified as Kim Woo, who was cornered in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, according to BI’s fugitive search unit chief Bobby Raquepo. Kim was arrested at the request of the Korean Embassy in Manila.

Raquepo said Kim, who hid in the country for almost a year, was already an undocumented alien due to the cancellation of his passport by the Korean government.

A Korean court issued an arrest warrant against Kim who is also the subject of a red notice from Interpol.

Kim is wanted for swindling his victim of nearly 129 million won from 2013 to 2015 which he borrowed by falsely claiming he needed the money to finish a film that he was directing.
