The city government of Caloocan recently extended assistance to more than 200 families affected by a fire that hit a residential area in Barangay 73 Monday night.
Caloocan City Social Welfare and Development action officer Obet Quizon said Mayor Oca Malapitan immediately tasked the department to provide assistance to the fire victims.
As of Tuesday morning, the city government already prepared meals for the residents. Rescuers were also sent to provide help in the area.
“We are now preparing the distribution of dignity kits. Aside from that, we are providing them medical assistance and psychosocial intervention if needed,” Quizon added.
Meanwhile, Mayor Oca reminded the residents to be alert and vigilant to prevent such incidents.
