“You’ll get to know a collection of interesting trivia, like for example, I learned that the image in the bottle of St. Michael the Archangel vanquishing the devil, was actually a work done by the famous national artist and painter Fernando Amorsolo,” Wurtzbach explained.

The story of Ginebra San Miguel culture and tradition began on March 10, 1834, from humble beginnings in a small distillery in Quiapo, Manila. The first-ever gin in the Philippines, Ginebra was initially produced to cater to the affluent and colonial elite of Manila and later shared with other wealthy Filipinos. It became the most sought-after liquor drink by Filipinos by the late 19th century, growing in demand as it became more affordable to the working class Filipinos.

Ginebra San Miguel has been a witness to the changes that shaped and defined the Philippines. It has withstood the test of time, the changes that shaped Philippine history, from the Spanish war to the American colonization and Japanese invasion during World War II.
