Manila City Mayor-elect ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso will launch an investigation into the alleged sabotage at Manila Boystown, where piles of foodstuffs were found discarded and buried in a 10-foot hole.

The announcement came after Domagoso conducted a surprise inspection on Monday morning at Manila Boystown following a report from a concerned citizen that food supplies were buried in a hole dug inside the complex.
“According to the report we received on social media, the food was thrown so it won’t be used by the incoming [city] administration,” Domagoso said in a statement.
During the inspection, heaps of rice, sugar, coffee, noodles, oatmeal, and chocolate were found buried inside the hole. The food supplies were already removed from their respective packaging when they were discarded.
Upon examination of the discarded packaging, Domagoso found that the food products were not yet expired.
“The food wasn’t spoiled at all. They could have been used by the residents of Boystown who have nothing to eat. Clearly, this is sabotage on the city government,” Domagoso said.
The food was government property, he added, and if they were set to be disposed of, someone should have told the head of the complex, which is located in Marikina City but owned by the City of Manila.
Upon assumption of office in July, the Mayor-elect said an investigation will be immediately launched to hold officials and other personalities involved in the matter accountable.
“We will punish the shameless people behind this waste of good food. Don’t they have pity on the people who have nothing to eat?” he said.
