Senate President Vicente Sotto III and six other senators scored a perfect attendance during 3rd regular session of the 17th Congress.
The six are Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, Minority Leader Franklin M. Drilon, Senators Panfilo Lacson, Gregorio Honasan, Joel Villanueva and Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.
They have attended all of 61 plenary sessions, from July 23, 2018 to June 4, 2019.
Sotto and Lacson posted a perfect attendance during the entire 17th Congress,
They have never been absent in the first and second regular sessions of 2016 and 2017.
Pimentel and Zubiri both scored a perfect attendance during the second regular session which spanned from July 24, 2017 to May 30, 2018.
Of the seven, Sotto, Honasan, Lacson and Zubiri achieved a clean attendance record with no record of arriving after the roll call. They also had no record of calling in sick or being on official missions in the entire 3rd regular session.
Except for two instances where he arrived after the roll call was made, Villanueva, who is just on this third year as senator, would have had the same record as that of his more senior colleagues.
Data from the Senate Journal Service showed that they were followed by Sen. Nancy Binay who attended 60 session days. She was on an official mission abroad which prompted her to skip one session day.
Senators Win Gatchalian, JV Ejercito and Cynthia Villar completed 58 session days while Senators Risa Hontiveros and Antonio Trillanes IV showed up 57 times.
The other senatorswho fared better in attendance were Senators Sonny Angara, Grace Poe and Loren Legarda. They were present for 56 session days.
Senate President Pro-Tempore Ralph G. Recto and Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero both attended 55 plenary sessions.
Sen. Richard Gordon was present in 54 sessions while Sen. Bam Aquino was present 50 times.
Sen. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao also continued to post good attendance record, keeping his promise to focus on his job in the Senate, as he showed up 49 times for work.
Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan had a record attendance of 47. He has 12 official missions and was absent only twice.
Due to her incarceration, Sen. Leila de Lima recorded zero attendance.
Congress went on sine die adjournment last June 4.
