Young, Bagtas top Mazda-Forest Hills golf

Peter Young and veteran Eddie Bagtas assembled 148 (79-69) in aggregate at the Nicklaus course and combined for 71 in four ball at the Palmer layout to capture the overall low gross crown with a 219 total in the 18th Mazda-Forest Hills Invitational held at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Antipolo City.

Allan Passion and basketball coach Virgil Villavicencio won the overall net champions, shooting 86 (44-42) and 44 for 130 points in the four-day tournament, staked two sedan cars from GAC Motors and Diamond Motors (Mitsubishi) and an Adventure 150 motorcycle from Autohub.

Mark Gruba and partner Mike Lim made 76 and 44 for 120 to top Class A while Romeo Chong and Edgardo Brocal had 88 and 42 for 130 to hoist the Class B title. 

Elmer Ngo and Nestor Quinsay, a Department of Interior and Local Government Undersecretary, turned in 124 (81 and 43) in Class C.

Evelyn Alcantara and Vangie Omlang took home the Class D plum with 129 (85 and 44). Junior golfer Leandro Bagtas and Johnny Chua were awarded with the sponsors and members individual titles, respectively.

Golforce, Megaforce Security, City Advertising, Escala Tagaytay, Luisita Golf Club and Elm’s Kapihan presented the event with Primer Group, Business Mirror, KLIO International, and Inquirer Golf.

Cherrylume/Mileage Asia Corp., Fatima University Med Center, CDO Foodsphere, YSA Skin Care and Mizuno were silver sponsors. Emirates, Cebu Pacific, Taishan Insurance, Turf Company, Silicon Computers, J-Ten Sports were the backers.
