PH Volcanoes rise to no. 42 in world rankings

The Philippine Volcanoes moved up in the world rankings after they successfully defended their Asia Rugby Championship Division I title over the weekend in Taiwan.

The Volcanoes, who came up with a 29-21 win over Singapore, jumped up 11 places in the World Rugby Rankings to an all-time high of 42nd.

This put the Volcanoes some seven places higher than their previous best.

The Volcanoes picked up 2.61 rating points over the five days of competition after making it past the semifinals.

Singapore remains in 57th place after its 18-13 semifinal win against Chinese Taipei.

New Zealand is at no. 1 in the world rankings, followed by Wales, Ireland, England, and South Africa.
