Peter Joemel Advincula, who claimed he was the hooded man “Bikoy” in the videos, is back in police custody.
Advincula gave himself up to police authorities on May 27, two days after he was freed on bail on fraud charges.
According to Major Gen. Amador Corpus, chief of the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Advincula, who linked President Rodrigo Duterte and his family to the illegal drug trade is now under “protective” police custody.
The police said Advincula turned over his cellphone and his desktop computer which supposedly contained his conversations with various people, said Philippine National Police chief General Oscar Albayalde.
Advincula earlier said in a press briefing at the PNP headquarters that his allegations in the video series “Ang Totoong Narco-List” were all lies allegedly led by the opposition Liberal Party and Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, an outspoken Duterte critic.
Trillanes and members of the Liberal Party denied Advincula’s allegations and threatened to file charges against him.
Albayalde said they are now determining whether Advincula could be charged over the videos.
