Manila Water on Monday said that a seven-hour water service interruption will affect more than 242,000 residents in select areas in Quezon City on Friday.
The East Zone concessionaire said the water service interruption is due to the relocation of major pipelines along the Elliptical Road.
In its advisory, Manila Water said some 20 barangays will experience a service interruption from 11 p.m. on Friday, May 24, to 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 25.
“More than 242,000 population in 20 barangays in Quezon City will experience water service interruption as Manila Water relocates its major pipeline at the corner of Elliptical Road and North Avenue to make way for the construction of the MRT 7,” it said.
The affected barangays include the following: Alicia, Bagong Pag-asa, Bahay Toro, Central Culiat, Malaya, New Era, Old Capitol Site, Pasong Tamo, Pinyahan, Project 6, Ramon Magsaysay, San Vicente Santo Cristo, Sikatuna Village, Tandang Sora, Teachers Village East, Teachers Village West, UP Village and Vasra.
The Metro Rail Transit Line 7 is a P69.30-billion, 23-kilometer railway system that will link North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.
