Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said the presidency is far from her mind, even if allies continue to introduce her as the country’s next leader during campaign rallies.
“That [being a President] is not my ambition,” Duterte-Carpio, after she was introduced by Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing as the next president during a campaign stop there last Thursday, said.
“I just always pray to God so that I will be guided in my decisions,” she added.
The presidential daughter, who also the founder and campaign manager of Hugpong Ng Pagbabago, a regional political party, has graced the groundbreaking ceremony of Pier 88 Port Development here.
Still, allies and even Senate bets continue to harp on the Davao Mayor’s qualities as a potential presidential candidate, citing her charm, courage, empathy, and intelligence.
