Trader asked to answer raps of killing his own brother

The Department of Justice has summoned businessman Dennis Sytin to answer the murder and frustrated murder complaint filed against him and two others, in connection with the killing of his brother-businessman Dominic Sytin.

In a subpoena issued on Tuesday, the DOJ ordered Sytin and co-respondents Edgardo Luib, and Oliver Fuentes alias Ryan Rementilla to appear before a panel of prosecutors on April 1 for the conduct of a preliminary investigation into the case.

“You are hereby summoned…in connection with the preliminary investigation . . . and to submit your counter-affidavit and those of your witnesses and other supporting documents if any, in your defense,” stated the subpoena issued by the DOJ’s panel of prosecutors composed by Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Juan Pedro C. Navera, as chairman, and Prosecutor Weldell P. Bendoval and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Gino Angelo P. Yanga as members.

The complaint was filed by Dominic’s wife Ann Marietta and the Olongapo City police.

Dominic Sytin became one of the suspects in the killing of his brother following the arrest of Luib last March 5.

In his extrajudicial confession, Luib identified Dennis as the mastermind and tagged Fuentes in the killing.

He said he was promised P1 million to kill Dominic, but was paid only P50,000.

Dominic was shot dead in front of the Lighthouse Hotel in Subic.

His driver Efren Espartero suffered gunshot wounds during the incident.

Dennis denied his alleged involvement in the killing of his brother, saying that he was just being used as scapegoat.
