Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced the official bracket of the tournament, putting all the quarterfinals matches of the Grand Prix at ONE: A NEW ERA, which emanates from the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo Japan on 31 March.

“No doubt I’ll be preparing for this tournament. My main focus now will be training and preparing for the Grand Prix,” said Kingad who got into the tournament after beating Tatsumitsu Wada at ONE: HERO’S ASCENT  last January.

“I already saw almost everyone who will be joining the tournament and I’m ready for it.”

If Kingad wins in the quarterfinals, he will be taking on the winner of the bout between Kairat Akhmetov and Reece McLaren.

With the way the bracket is made up, Kingad’s dream match with longtime pound-for-pound king Demetrious Johnson will be possible, assuming they both clear their brackets in the tournament.

Johnson will take on Japanese stud Yuya Wakamatsu in his opener, while Wada and Ivanildo Delfino will be completing the Grand Prix.

While the thoughts of testing his skills against Johnson is exciting, Kingad assures his supporters that he isn’t looking past anyone in the tournament.

But for now, Kingad is just thankful to be in this position and his entire focus is on Leone.

“Being in the tournament alone is an honor," he declared. "What makes it exciting is that I’ll be able to face the best the division has to offer.”
