To prove the effectiveness of the new Downy Sports in real life, actress and vlogger Alex Gonzaga pitted celebrity teams against soccer players and fitness enthusiast Nico Bolzico in the 24-Hour All-Star Freshness Challenge at the Kerry Sports Plaza over at Shangri-la at The Fort.
“Filipinos will be assured that they will smell and feel fresh even in extreme sweaty situations in their daily routine,” said Downy Philippines’ Country Category Leader Cedric Le Goff. “We are confident of the new Downy Sports’ 24-hour deodorant protection.”
Local celebrities both in show business and sports who took part included Thirdy Ravena, Michele Gumabao and Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan for Team Alex, while from Team Nico were Kianna Dy, Joanne Villablanca, and Anton Del Rosario, who were all coached by basketball icons LA Tenorio, JC Intal, Asi Taulava, Jeff Chan, Marc Pingris and Robert Bolick.
“The Philippines is a tropical country with high humidity, so people tend to sweat a lot, especially when they engage in physical activities and sports,” said Le Goff.
The intense afternoon squeezed in lay-up matches, dribbling obstacle courses, and a basketball game for the All-Star teams before the players hung their jerseys in an all-star freshness gallery, where the audience and players themselves found out that the jerseys still smelled fresh from all the sweat it accumulated.
“This is just awesome. My jersey still smells great even if it’s drenched in sweat. And the beat thing is that I feel fresh. Considering my lifestyle, I’ll definitely make sure that my clothes are washed with Downy Sports so that I’ll always smell fresh,” said Bolzico. “Definitely wifezilla-approved!”
“Downy Sports is really a refreshing discovery, and I know I’ll get to stay fresh all day whether it’s for sports or for the everyday hustle with tapings, vlogging, events, and shopping!” said Alex Gonzaga whose celebrity team won the match by one point.
