Dedicated to achieving equal rights and dignity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people, the local government of Muntinlupa launched the ‘One Love: Muntinlupa LGBT Congress’ at Vivere Hotel and Resorts, Alabang on Dec. 22, drawing 280 LGBTQ members. The Congress aimed to champion equality and the community’s rights in the city. Advocates showing support through video messages in the Congress were Bataan 1st District Rep. Geraldine Roman, TV hosts Boy Abunda, Kaladkarin Davila, and K Brosas. Also attending the program were LGBTQ activist Rain Matias, former broadcaster Jiggy Manicad, and LGBTQ Muntinlupa president Third Boncayao. Mayor Jaime Fresnedi vows to promote and deliver inclusive development for all regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.
