Enzo Pineda makes his mark

Enzo Pineda makes his markMy last personal encounter with Enzo Pineda was when he’s still a Kapuso. He was supposedly one of the major features in a glossy, together with his former StarStruck comrades Rocco Nacino and Steven Silva. Sadly, the issue, which was supposed to be an exhaustive primer about the reality based artista search did not come into fruition due to lack of advertising load.

His transfer to ABS CBN was inevitable. He became part of Till I Met You, the James Reid, Nadine Lustre and JC Santos bizarre love triangle drama. He played the role of Santos’ straight acting gay partner. Since then, Pineda has appeared in Pusong Ligaw, Bagani and even in FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano, to mention a few.

Now, during the story conference of Hilakbot, a BG Productions International film, under the direction of Joey Romero and screenplay by Eric Ramos, Pineda is the leading man in the gothic-horror motion picture given a green-light by Baby Go.

Other cast include Beauty Gonzales, Polo Ravales and Mr. World Philippines 2018 JB Saliba.

Pineda looks totally different with his skin head do, fully bearded, and yes, he truly epitomized the tall, dark and handsome description.

“You know, you have always seen me looking like the boy next door, presenting myself as a matinee idol. Ito, para maiba naman. I am comfortable with how I look right now. This year bad boy muna tayo,” Pineda comes clean with his dirtier look.

With this new imaging,  does it mean he will also be “bad” in other aspects of his life? He answers, “I am not bad in the truest meaning of the word, I am playful, a little naughty even. I do play with a lot of things but I am never playful when it comes to my personal relationships. Masama iyon. I play sports. I am into boxing and basketball.”

Pineda admits that he is single as of the moment, “Almost seven months na akong single. With my last relationship, I think we were in that part wherein we are no longer in sync. She wants to go this way, I want to go the other way. Well, we are still friends though. We were together for four years.”

Life goes on indeed for Pineda and his showbiz world keeps on going round and round. His leading lady in the Joey Romero directed flick, Beauty Gonzales, portrayed the role of his mother in Pusong Ligaw.

“This is my second movie under BG Productions International,” Pineda divulges. “The first was Bigkis, tungkol sa mga nursing students directed by Neal Tan. It starred Lauren Young and LJ Reyes.”

He says of his leading man status, “I appreciate it, happy of course. It feels good that people in the industry are seeing my merits and they are gambling on what I can offer as an actor. Masaya lang na makapagbigay ng something different sa mga manonood. You know, I really go out of my way to deliver a different kind of performance.”

Shooting for the gothic horror motion picture begins this December and it will happen in the picture-perfect city of Dumaguete.
