Peachy Tiu, assistant vice president for construction supplies group, led the team when they visited Paringao Elementary School in Bauang, La Union.

JDI donated several boxes of its elastomeric sealant, Sureseal, for the repairs of damaged roofs.

Among the schools JDI visited were Bayugan Elementary School in La Trinidad, Benguet; Paringao Elementary School in Bauang, La Union; Tamurong Elementary School in Candon, Ilocos Sur; and Catbangen Central School in San Fernando, La Union.

“Education has always been a huge part of our corporate social responsibility because we believe that educating the youth and supporting educational institutions are key to our bigger purpose of nurturing and caring for the Filipino home,” said Peachy Tiu, assistant vice president of JDI.

Tiu added, “By helping in building strong schools and strong minds, we are confident that our future is in good hands.”

In 2013, after the record-breaking Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) pummeled Leyte and Samar, JDI was also among the first to contribute to recovery efforts by donating tents and school supplies to affected schools and students.
