Men’s volleyball action shifts into high gear today, Monday as top seed Sta. Elena faces No. 4 Cignal and No. 2 PLDT collides with third ranked Air Force in the Final Four of the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference at the Blue Eagle gym in QC.

The Cignal HD Spikers actually clipped the Sta. Elena Ball Hammers in four sets in their lone elims face-off last Oct. 19 but the latter has since recovered and went on to claim the top spot into the semis.

Gametime is at 1 p.m. with Sta. Elena coach Dante Alinsunurin hoping to draw the best from the likes of Bryan Bagunas, Nicolas Almendras, James Natividad, Kim Malabunga and skipper Francis Saura as they try to get back at their tormentors and gain the head start in their best-of-three series.

But Ysrael Marasigan, Wendel Miguel, Fauzi Ismail, Rex Intal and Peter Torres will be going all out to re-assert their mastery of the Ball Hammers and fuel their own drive to the finals of the third season of the league organized by Sports Vision.

The 3 p.m. clash between PLDT and Air Force also promises to be a toss-up although the former swept the latter in their elims matchup last Oct. 11. But the Agilas are raring to put one over the Home Power Hitters behind Alnakran Abdilla, Howard Mojica, Edwin Tolentino and Jeffrey Malabanan.

PLDT, meanwhile, will pin its hopes on Joeven dela Vega, Mark Alfafara, Rex Intal and John Vic De Guzman in what is expected to be another explosive duel of power and net defense.
