Senator Cynthia Villar congratulated the City Government of Caloocan led by Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan for being a four-peat Seal of Good Local Governance awardee, emphasizing that Caloocan is now a progressive city.
“Caloocan has received different awards, the last being the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ng Seal of Good Local Governance for four consecutive years. Mayor Oca has really improved Caloocan,” Villar said during the Monday flag-raising ceremony at the New Caloocan City Hall.
Citing stricter guidelines set by the DILG this year, the senator said SGLG is the highest award given by the DILG to give distinction to remarkable good local governance across the country.
“That is really a big achievement and deserves admiration and praise. Caloocan is on the right track as far as keeping the momentum of change going. I’m looking forward to keep hearing good news about your city,” Villar said.
Mayor Oca thanked Villar for visiting Caloocan City. He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Vice Mayor Maca Assistio, Rep. Along Malapitan, Rep. Egay Erice, the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, all city department heads and employees for their hard work in helping him serve their constituents.
The Mayor said he dedicates the fourth SGLG award “to the true heroes who inspire him to work harder—the Caloocan residents.”
