EA’s Taste of Asia will face HE Photography in the opener at 6:30 pm. Followed by the tussle between EA’s Taste of Asia and Regalado Vets.

The Starters’ division are for six-feet below hobbyists players who are not former professional players nor have played in collegiate leagues. Two players standing 6-2 are allowed per team. The champion will get a specially crafted trophy and P40,000 cash.

Teams in the other two divisions – Cadet and Open—will start seeing action on Nov. 17.

QCBL Operations manager Oliver Bunyi said the league will employ the services of the referees’ pool and table officials from Samahang Basketball Technical Commission (SBPTC) to ensure an orderly conduct of the games for its inaugural conference.

“We don’t want to take any chances in terms of officiating so have partnered with the SBP officiating team for our first conference.”

The SBP will make available 10 FIBA referees and 40 SBP national referees for the QCBL headed by Executive Director BJ Manalo, a former De La Salle University archer and team official in the Philippine Basketball Association.

“We believe in the fairness, honesty and high-quality of officiating of the SBP and FIBA referees. I’m sure the team owners in our league will be very happy with this development,” said Manalo.

There will be three referees that will officiate per game.
