Chairman’s Cup draws record cast

The Cherrylume Chairman’s Cup braces for its grand 16th staging this weekend with a record 415-player field clashing for top honors in various divisions at the Forest Hills Golf and Country Club’s Nicklaus and Palmer courses in Antipolo City.

Up from last year’s 300-player cast, the big increase in participation has forced the organizing committee, headed by club chairman Atty. Ferdinand Santos to hold the annual event to two days on Nov. 10-11.

“It’s a big number but by making it longer and utilizing both the Nicklaus and Palmer layouts, our players will be assured of a smooth staging and less traffic on the courses. We are just very happy to host this big field,” said Santos.

According to Forest Hills GCC general manager Raymond Bunquin, big prizes will be up for grabs on all par-3s in the two-day event presented by Escala Tagaytay, Golforce, Megaforce Security, Mizuno MasterSports and Diamond Motors.

They include a Mitsubishi Xpander and Tata Manza, a Mazda 3 (ANC Group), a Texas Eagle cart (Turf Co.), a Cobra golf set F7 (J-Ten Sports), 100k cash (Taishan Insurance), Meister watch (YSA skin care), and GPS Tracker (Silicon Computer).

Fujitsu Philippines, Klio International, MRT Dev. Co., Starforce and The Turf Company/Toro and South Forbes Golf Club are the event’s Silver sponsors while Group M, AIO Global, Aqua Haus, Arcadia Realty, Asia Cargo, Ayala Land Premiere, Bali Lending, Pacific Electric Wires, Danielsen Transport, East West Bank, Eastland Heights, Eurotel, Flying A International, GPMC Group, Interconnect Systems and Hydrotech Irrigation are the other supporters.
