The Department of Transportation said Davao City’s Francisco Bangoy International Airport is now serving flights from Hong Kong.

Hong Kong-based Cathay Dragon would fly the Hong Kong-Davao-Hong Kong route five times weekly every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday utilizing an Airbus A320 aircraft.

“I am very happy that the people of Hong Kong and the people of Davao and Mindanao are finally connected through this new route,” Transporation Undersecretary for aviation and airports Manuel Antonio Tamayo said.

“Operating at five times every week, this connection will surely open tons of opportunities for the city of Davao and Hong Kong in terms of trade and tourism,” Tamayo said.

Cathay Dragon whose home airport is the award-winning Hong Kong International Airport is the premium, full-serviced regional airline of the Cathay Pacific Group.
