GMA Pinoy TV successfully held back-to-back events in different sides of the world with the sold-out Kapusong Pinoy: Paskuhan at Kantawanan sa Anaheim in the US and the launch of GMA Pinoy TV during the Migrants’ Arirang Multicultural Festival (MAMF) in South Korea.
The early Christmas treat for Pinoys in Los Angeles, California was bannered by Ai Ai delas Alas, Christian Bautista, Julie Anne San Jose, Donita Nose and Super Tekla, and Marian Rivera-Dantes.
Marian, who recently announced her second pregnancy, even went all-out with her dance performances for the Kapuso abroad. As a surprise, her husband, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, joined her on-stage for an impromptu duet which drew loud squeals of kilig from the crowd.
Before wrapping up the show, Marian and Ai Ai gave messages of love for all Pinoys abroad who wouldn’t be able to celebrate Christimas in the Philippines, “Dito nakikita talaga ang sakripisyo ng isang Pinoy na nagmamahal sa pamilya, na lahat ay kayang gawin at tiisin. Sa mga Kapuso na hindi makakauwi ngayong taon, Maligayang Pasko po sa inyo.”
Kapusong Pinoy: Paskuhan at Kantawanan sa Anaheim was an original concept by GMA Entertainment Group and was line produced by Starmedia Entertainment. It was GMA Pinoy TV’s way of giving thanks to the Kapuso viewers in Southern California for welcoming GMA’s flagship international channel into their homes since 2005.
In addition, the special musical event was doubly special as it was part of GMA’s celebration of the Filipino-American History Month (FAHM).
Meanwhile, actor Tom Rodriguez headlined the official launch of GMA Pinoy TV, GMA’s flagship international channel, in South Korea during the Migrants’ Arirang Multicultural Festival (MAMF).
Organized by Gyeongnam Migrant Center with the exclusive Philippine media partnership of GMA Pinoy TV and partner-carrier HD Telecom, the event is widely regarded as the biggest annual festival in Changwon City which had Filipinos from all over Incheon, Busan, and other parts of South Korea flocking to Youngji Cultural Park and Sungsan Art Hall.
Filipinos in South Korea can now feel closer to home via HD Telecom’s newly launched mobile application Vision PH which enables them to catch GMA Network’s international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV International conveniently on their Android or iOS smartphones.
Both events, which took place on Oct. 7, were staged to make Filipinos residing and working overseas feel closer to home.
