This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

TWIXIE, born Aug. 8, 2018, is a chowchow who was supposed to be given to the aunt of Gab Barraquias as a gift.

But the family had “a change of plans,” Gab says.

At two months old, “our daddy taught her to sit patiently and wait for the go signal before she can start eating,” Gab says.

“Twixie is very fluffy and playful. Isn't she a cutie!!! We love her to the moon and back!!” Gab says.

DOXY (right), a dachshund born on July 5, 2013, was given to Elaine Joshua by a very close family friend.

“She is very patient and the smartest doggo in the group, says Elaine.

Elaine adds: “At four months old, she knows how to climb up the sofa bed and even finds her way up the tables. She loves to bark at you if she wants a treat and shows you where the treat is. That’s our Doxy girl!”

BEANNIE (left), is a dachshund born on January 24, 2016, and a younger sister of Doxy.

“She is our most well-groomed dog in terms of smell! And our forever crybaby! But she is very sweet to everybody and loves the attention,“ Elaine adds.

Doxy and Beannie both love the beach.

“We super love our fur babies as they give us sooo much love and happiness in our home. They have different personalities which make it much more fun here. They are so sweet and they are our love cuddles,” says Elaine.
