The Philippine Blu Boys continued to dominate their opponents in the ongoing Makassar Open International Men and Women Softball Tournament at Makassar, Indonesia.
The team has already posted five wins in six games.
In opening their campaign, the PH Blu Boys edged Bedford (Australia), 10-9, before losing to New Zealand, 1-5.
The Philippine national men’s softball team quickly bounced back, shutting out Piccadilly (New Zealand), 3-0, Lakidende (Malaysia), 1-0, and Pirates (Indonesia), 10-0, before holding off Bedford, 6-3.
“This is another testament to the talent of Filipinos when it comes to softball. The PH Blu Boys are definitely a force to reckon with in the international scene. I wish them good luck and I am confident that they will deliver good results for our country’s glory,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines president, as he expressed his delight on the national team’s winning streak.
The PH Blu Boys made a courtesy call on Jean Henri Lhuillier, one of softball’s long-time patrons. Prior to competing in the Makassar Open, the national men’s softball team already achieved a silver medal finish at the 10th Asian Men’s Softball Championship.
