Alden Richards is glad that his current primetime show Victor Magtanggol is performing well in its time slot given that it’s going head-to-head against Coco Martin’s more established Ang Probinsyano.
In a recent interview, the actor revealed that “the management is happy with where the show stands at this point.”
“At least, the slot became better when we stepped in. I can’t say until when we will air but so far, our tapings are continuous. What matters is the show is fighting,” he avers.
The bedimpled heartthrob really feels that his character has become popular with the public.
“When outside, people call me Victor Magtanggol, most especially the kids. Even the adult working class like security guards and construction workers, they call me Victor. Sometimes, the children call me Hammerman. It’s simply heart-warming.”
Alden is proud that through the program, he is able to inspire people.
“That’s the main purpose why we are doing TV shows—to inspire and set a good example to the viewers, right? Especially that in our show’s timeslot, many children are still awake and watch us. We want them to pick up good values in our presentation.”
Many viewers liked the recent appearance of the Encantadia leads in Victor Magtanggol.
“Oh yes! I’m thankful to the four Sang’gres. It’s like we exchanged favors since I also made a guest appearance in Encantadia before. It was nice. It gave a fresh flavor to the story.”
As part of the creative team of Victor Magtanggol, does he have a say on who is supposed to make a guest appearance in the program?
“When it comes to that department, it’s more on GMA who decides. I focus more on the story—how it could still be made more exciting. I look into the fight scenes, the family angles. That’s where I concentrate.”
Alden is very pleased that the working relationship among the cast members is smooth.
“Our working ambience is so light. We’re like one big happy family in here. From John Estrada, Coney Reyes and Janine Gutierrez, we’re a solid team. Through thick and thin, we’re together. I guess that’s our winning formula,” he ends.

Apart from acting, Enchong Dee now dabbles as a TV host via Extreme Ends, an international show created by KIX Channel.
“I’m really excited with my participation in this program. All of KIX’s offerings are basically focused on exhibiting and highlighting action-packed shows and ‘Extreme Ends’ is no exception. I’m quite sure adventure-loving people will like the program.”
How did he land the part in the show?
“Actually, when the creative team came up with Extreme Ends, the concept was to have four celebrities from various countries who will act as hosts. I have my counterparts in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. It’s just fortunate that my schedule was okay when I was offered the part.”
He added that when he found out he was picked, he got overjoyed because he still hasn’t done a show which showcases the country and at the same time, allows him to do something extreme and funny.
“I was fortunate that I was assigned to do Hong Kong in which I had to do four episodes. There was a Hong Kong Tourism Board officer who accompanied and showed us the different sides of the country.”
“It’s really one unforgettable experience. I’m with Ria Atayde here and I hope TV buffs will watch our episodes to be aired on Oct. 17 on KIX Channel,” says Enchong.
