CMP’s Community Nutrition Program recipes

CMP’s child volunteers proudly show off the vegetables they will cook with their parents.

MONGGO PATTIES

Ingredients:

1 kg cooked monggo beans

½ kg ground beef

1 cup corn starch

1 cup flour

6 pcs eggs

1 cup grated carrots

4 pcs bell pepper, chopped

1 stem onion leeks, chopped

2 pcs onion, chopped

1 pc garlic clove, chopped

1 tbsp. brown sugar

1 tsp. salt

¼ tsp. ground pepper

Vegetable oil 

Procedure: 

1. Combine all of ingredients, except for the oil. 

2. Form the patties based on desired shape and size. 

3. Fry patties in medium heat.  

4. Serve with rice or in between burger buns. 

5. Keep leftover patties in freezer. 

KAMOTE TOPS JUICE

Ingredients:

2 packs purple kamote tops

2 liters water

1/4 kg brown sugar

½ kg calamansi or dalandan (optional)

Ice tubes (optional) 

Procedure: 

1. Wash kamote tops. 

2. Boil two liters of water.

3. Once water is boiling, put kamote tops in pan and let boil for 5 minutes.

4. Remove kamote tops from its juice.

5. Put juice into a container with ice, then mix in sugar and calamansi.

6. Serve hot or cold.
