Immigration authorities arrested two Chinese fugitives wanted by authorities in Beijing for economic crimes, fraud and other illegal activities, officials said Tuesday.

Fu Hanzhou and Huang Meizhen, a female, were apprehended along Legarda Street in Binondo, Manila by operatives from the Bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit, but their two cohorts managed to slip from the arresting BI agents.

BI spokesperson Dana Krizia Sandoval said that both would be deported for being undesirable and undocumented aliens, adding they had received official communication from Chinese authorities that the passports of the duo were already canceled.

They are currently detained at the BI Detention Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending the implementation of their deportation.

“Upon deportation, they will be placed in our blacklist to ensure these fugitives won’t be able to return to the Philippines,” Sandoval added.

BI FSU Chief Bobby Raquepo said Fu and Huang were arrested a week after one of their alleged accomplices, Lian Lilong was arrested inside his hotel room in Binondo.

Raquepo said the three arrested Chinese nationals allegedly conspired with two other suspects in a credit card fraud scheme that victimized many of their compatriots.

The two remaining suspects are still being hunted.

All five Chinese nationals were already issued summary deportation orders by the BI Board of Commissioners at the request of the China’s Ministry of Public Security.
