Pinoys satisfied–SWS

The Duterte administration suffered an eight-point drop in the third quarter of 2018, from +58 rating it achieved in the previous quarter but retained a very good net satisfaction rating of 65 percent in the same quarter.

According to the Social Weather Stations, more than six out of every 10 Filipinos were satisfied with the performance of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration, retaining a very good net satisfaction rating of 65 percent in the third quarter of 2018.

The poll, conducted from September 15 to 23, showed that 65 percent of Filipinos continued to remain satisfied with the general performance of the current administration.

Nineteen percent were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, while 15 percent were dissatisfied.

The SWS also revealed that the Duterte administration’s net satisfaction rating fell one grade in all areas, except in Metro Manila.

It declined to “very good” in Mindanao (+67), “good” in Balance Luzon (+48), and “good” in Visayas (+42).

It stayed “good” in Metro Manila (+40), although down by 7 points from June.

Though the government’s performance stayed “very good” in rural areas (+54) and “good” in urban areas (+45), it is 13 points and 4 points lower in the 3rd quarter, respectively.

In classes A, B, and C, the Duterte administration’s net satisfaction rating dropped from “excellent” to “good” with +47, a decline of 34 points from June.

It also fell one grade from “very good” to “good” in class E (+49) and stayed “very good” with +56 in class D.

But the net satisfaction rating of the Duterte administration stayed “very good” in rural areas (+54) and among the class D or the masa (+50), and “good” in Metro Manila (+40) and in urban areas (+45), although there were significant drops in the recent figure.

Respondents interviewed for the survey were also asked to rate the government’s performance on several subjects.

The Duterte administration garnered a “very good” rating on building and maintenance of public works (+66), helping the poor (+63), reconstructing Marawi City (+58), protecting human rights (+54), and fighting terrorism (+53).

The respondents also rated “good” on the government’s performance on fighting crimes (+43), foreign relations (+40), defending its sovereignty in West Philippine Sea (+39), and eradicating graft and corruption (+38), among others.
