Five anti-illegal drugs law enforcers were killed in Kapai, Lanao del Sur today, reports reaching the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency regional office in Cotabato City.
Authorities said five operatives and a non-uniform personnel of the PDEA office in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao were ambushed after attending a ceremonial program for surrendering drug users at the Municipal Police Station in Tagoloan town.
According to reports from the Tagoloan Municipal Police Station, the victims were ambushed on a white Toyota van by still unidentified armed men in in Barangay Malna, Kapai.
Kapai and Tagoloan police personnel responded; took the victims to Amai Pakpak Hospital in Marawi City.
Three of the victims were identified as Tabolo, Kristine May Torlao, Lores Joy Amas, and Binzo.
