Makati opens 31 satellite tax payment centers

The city government of Makati on Monday announced the opening of 31 satellite payment centers in various barangay halls in the city for real property owners with taxes due this fourth and last quarter of 2018.

Mayor Abigail Binay said the payment centers will open starting today (Tuesday) from 9 am to 4 pm on scheduled dates in various barangays for the convenience of real property owners.

“The taxpayers should take advantage of this opportunity to pay their taxes without going to City Hall, and save on transportation costs and time,” she said.

The city chief executive said through the Realty Tax Division under the Finance Department, the city government ensures the efficiency of services at the satellite payment centers, where each transaction usually takes a maximum of five minutes. 

Taxpayers only need to present their previous receipt and pay the taxes due to receive an electronic receipt from the authorized tellers, she said.

“We are bringing our services practically in your neighborhood as our way of showing our appreciation for your important contribution to the city’s continuing progress,” added Binay.

On Oct. 2, the payment centers will be opened in Barangays Bel-Air and Urdaneta, followed by Magallanes and San Lorenzo on Oct. 3.

The schedule for the rest of the week is as follows: Oct. 4, Barangays Dasmariñas and Forbes Park; and Oct. 5, Barangays Bangkal, Pio del Pilar, San Isidro, Palanan, and San Antonio.

The following week, the payment centers will be open to serve taxpayers, as follows: Oct. 9 (Tuesday), Barangays La Paz, Sta. Cruz, Singkamas, Tejeros, and Carmona.; Oct. 10 (Wednesday), Kasilawan, Olympia, Valenzuela, Poblacion, and Guadalupe Viejo; Oct. 11 (Thursday), Guadalupe Nuevo, Pinagkaisahan, Pitogo, Cembo, and South Cembo; and Oct. 12 (Friday), West Rembo, East Rembo, Comembo, Pembo and Rizal.

Based on the city’s Revenue Code, Makati offers a five percent discount for quarterly payments made during the first 20 days of the quarter (Oct. 20 for the fourth quarter). On the other hand, late quarterly payments will incur a penalty of two percent per month.

Meanwhile, the Realty Tax Division at the 2nd floor of Makati City Hall Building I will also be open to serve taxpayers on Saturdays from 8am to 4pm on Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27. It will also serve clients during regular business hours from 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday.
