As a child and even when he was growing up, joining showbiz much less become an actor, was never an option for Luigi Revilla. Not even if he knew that his dad, former Senator Bong Revilla, and grandpa and Agimat king Ramon Revilla Sr., would back him up.
Both his dad and grandpa have a long list of action films that were all big hits at the box office.
“I had other priorities in my younger years,” Luigi, now 26 years old, recalled. “Foremost is to finish a college course. I was sent by my parents to very good and exclusive schools. I didn’t want to let that opportunity go.”
He finished both his elementary and high school at the Ateneo de Manila University. Prior to entering college, he had the privilege of attending classes at an international school. Luigi holds a degree in Entrepreneurship from the Enderrun College in Taguig City.
Initially, he was about to venture into a small business when his dad suggested that he joined his elder brothers, Cavite Vice-Governor Jolo Revilla and Bryan Revilla in Tres, which was to serve as the comeback vehicle of their family-owned film outfit, Imus Productions.
Tres, which is an action-packed trilogy, has all three of them featured in one episode each. Each episode will be a complete movie in itself, as it will have its own title, leading lady, co-stars, and director.
His episode is titled “Amats,” where he has Assunta de Rossi and Myrtle Sarroza for his leading ladies. The director is Dondon Santos.
Santos is also at the helm of “72 Hours,” which is top billed by Jolo and co-star Rhian Ramos.
Jolo’s mom, Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado plays a special role in “72 Hours,” which also include in the cast, Albert Martinez, Phillip Salvador and Tirso Cruz III.
Meanwhile, Bryan’s “Virgo” has Richard Somes directing. The episode also stars Carla Humphries and Joey Marquez
Tres unspools at theaters nationwide tomorrow, Oct. 3.
