Yee lifts Tigers past Bulacan Kuyas

Mark Yee played like it was business as usual late Saturday night and the Davao Occi Tigers continued their rampage in the MPBL Datu Cup even as Paranaque snapped an alarming skid with a hard-earned triumph at the Caloocan Sports Complex.

Yee’s record of 24 rebounds which he set about a week ago was shattered by JR Taganas of the Bulacan Kuyas, but the veteran forward continued to inspire the Cocolife-backed Tigers in notching their fourth straight via a convincing 82-68 triumph over host team Caloocan Supremos-Longrich.

Yee had a solid output as expected and his another double-double effort of 29 points and 11 rebounds was enough to carry the Tigers to their seventh win in 10 games.

The Supremos, who absorbed their seventh straight loss and fell deeper at the bottom of the standings with a 2-8 record.

Earlier, Paranaque showed poise in the fourth quarter to put away Zamboanga, 68-58, and arrested an alarming skid in this fastest growing regional basketball league in the country put up by Senator Manny Pacquiao with PBA legend Kenneth Duremdes serving as commissioner.

The Patriots, backed by F2 Logistics, held their rivals scoreless in the last five and a half minutes then slowly but surely put away the Family’s Brand Sardines-supported Valientes with 10 unanswered points to get back on winning track.

Paranaque improved its win-loss record to 5-5.

Zamboanga absorbed its fifth loss in nine games and suffered its third setback in a row.

The Patriots won despite getting a least productive game from its double-double machine Harold Arboleda.

But Paranaque was able to get double-digit outputs from John Ambuludto, Mac Montilla and Ivan Valenzuela.

Ambuludto finished with 11 points while Montilla and Valenzuela contributed 10 apiece.
