GMA Regional TV’s awesome month

From mall shows to celebrating festivals, unveiling a local newscast and website, and launching a campaign—August was both busy and productive for GMA Regional TV.

Kapuso stars Gabby Concepcion, Thea Tolentino, and Jason Abalos kicked off the series of treats on the first day of August at the Kapuso Fiesta of the Municipality of Compostela Valley. 

In Cagayan de Oro, Ashley Ortega had a “Kapuso Meet and Greet” on Aug. 3 with a performance at the newly opened ice-skating rink in SM CDO Downtown Premiere.

Kapuso oppa Alexander Lee and Marucci, meanwhile, made waves in Davao at a Kapuso Mall Show in Abreeza Mall the following day.

On Aug. 16, real and reel couple Mikael Daez and Megan Young (stars of The Stepdaughters) was at SM Center Lemery, Batangas for the Lemery Town Fiesta co-stars Sef Cadayona, Joyce Ching, Donita Nose, Emmanuelle Vera, and Karenina Haniel.

Bea Binene, David Licauco, and Benjamin Alves (of Kapag Nahati ang Puso) were also in the same Kapuso Mall Show. 

Up north, the cast of Ika-5 Utos Klea Pineda, Migo Adecer, and Jeric Gonzales — were in a Kapuso Mall Show at Robinsons Place Pangasinan on Aug.17. Asia’s Pop Balladeer and The Clash judge Christian Bautista, meanwhile, serenaded the Kapusong Pangasinense together with Clashers Garret Bolden, Anthony Rosaldo, and Psalms David.

In Mindanao, Ika-5 Utos’ Jake Vargas and Inah de Belen entertained mallers at Robinsons Place Iligan with Clashers Josh Madaliday, Melbelline Caluag, and Josh Adornado.

Davao’s Kadayawan Festival was star-studded on Aug. 18 with Onanay’s Jo Berry, Mikee Quintos, Kate Valdez, Rochelle Pangilinan, Vaness Del Moral, and Enrico Cuenca in a Kapuso Mall Show at Gaisano Grand Mall Toril. The following day, Kapuso Prime Actor and Victor Magtanggol star Alden Richards rode the Kapuso float in the Pamulak sa Kadayawan along with Pancho Magno, Kristoffer Martin, and Dion Ignacio. Co-star Andrea Torres later joined them at the Kapuso Mall Show in SM City Davao.  Mallers also witnessed a mini-concert from Asian Nightingale and The Clash judge Lani Misalucha with Clashers Charline Fiel, Lyra Micolob, and Chemp Raña.

The stars of the recently concluded primetime series Kambal, KaribalBianca Umali, Kyline Alcantara, and Miguel Tanfelix—were in Iloilo that day to meet fans in Vista Mall Iloilo. With them in a Kapuso Mall Show were Clashers Kyryll Ugdiman, Mika Gorospe, and Jasmine Fitzgerald. Tom Rodriguez, on the other hand, was in Robinsons Place Iloilo in a Kapuso Mall Show with Thea Tolentino. In Cebu, Alexander Lee and Marucci did not disappoint the crowd who waited for them at Ayala Center. Showing their singing prowess as well were Clashers Esterlina Olmedo, Golden Cañedo, and Danielle Ozaraga

On Aug. 20, Contessa lead stars Glaiza de Castro and Lauren Young with Ruru Madrid were featured in a Kapuso Mall Show in SM City Lucena, Quezon.

After Davao, Alden Richards went to Robinsons Place Pangasinan for another Kapuso Mall Show on Aug. 21. With him were Pancho Magno, Lindsay Johnston, and Dion Ignacio.

In Iloilo City, Gabby Concepcion entertained senior citizens during the city’s Senior Citizen Day on Aug. 22 at Plaza Libertad.

Another Victor Magtanggol star, Kristoffer Martin, joined Ika-5 Utos’ Jeric Gonzales and Inah de Belen, and Kapag Nahati ang Puso’s David Licauco in Tacloban in a Kapuso Mall Show in Robinsons North Tacloban on Aug. 23.

Jason Abalos and Donita Nose were also in Iloilo in a Kapuso Meet and Greet at Plaza Libertad on Aug. 24 and 25, respectively, as part of the Iloilo Charter Day celebration.

Onanay’s Wendell Ramos and Rochelle Pangilinan, together with Alexander Lee and Marucci, were in Pangasinan in a Kapuso Mall Show in CSI The City Mall Dagupan on Aug. 25.

Tom Rodriguez also graced the Miss Cagayan De Oro Coronation Night on Aug. 25. 

Meanwhile, celebrating this year’s Higalaay Festival were Jason Abalos, Mika de la Cruz, and David Licauco who all went to Cagayan de Oro on Aug. 30 for a Kapuso Mall Show in Centrio Mall.

In Bacolod the following day, Alden Richards and other Victor Magtanggol stars Andrea Torres, Janine Gutierrez, Pancho Magno, and Dion Ignacio were in Robinsons Place to personally thank fans.

On top of the successful mall shows all over the country, GMA Regional TV made history again by pioneering the Hiligaynon news program One Western Visayas on Aug. 27. The Kapuso newscast is anchored by Atty. Sedfrey Cabaluna with Bacolod co-anchor and correspondent Adrian Prietos, and Iloilo co-anchor Kaitlene Rivilla.

GMA RTV also launched #SpreadKindness—an advocacy and public service campaign in the regions which aims to recognize and celebrate random acts of kindness made by ordinary people. Alden Richards awarded the unsung heroes when he went to Davao, Pangasinan, and Bacolod.
