A magnitude-4.0 earthquake was felt in some parts of Laoag City at 8:03 a.m. Friday, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was tectonic in origin and with a depth of seven kilometers.

Its epicenter was located five kilometers southwest of Marcos in Ilocos Norte.
Intensity III was felt by some residents in Sinait, Ilocos Sur while Intensity I was recorded in Laoag City.
Phivolcs said there was no expected damage or aftershocks.
