Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi on Monday led the turnover ceremony of eight ambulance units to local barangay chairmen during the city’s flag raising ceremony.
The ambulance units amounting to P12.8 million were supplemental to emergency response vehicles of Brgy. Tunasan, Brgy. Poblacion, Brgy. Putatan, Brgy. Bayanan, Brgy. Alabang, Brgy. Ayala Alabang, Brgy. Cupang, Brgy. Buli, and Brgy. Sucat.
Fresnedi ordered local executives to augment efforts on disaster risk response in view of provision of additional equipment. He said additional fire trucks will soon be turned over to barangays.
“I hope that each barangay officials will utilize these vehicles efficiently in improving medical services and emergency response to the communities,” the mayor added.
Public Information Officer Tez Navarro said the local government unit will continue to purchase vehicles and DRR equipment for rescue operations in preparing Muntinlupa to be a disaster-resilient city.
On top of response vehicles procurement, Navarro noted the City Government have been conducting community-based capacity development trainings on basic life support and disaster management to improve preparedness and response at grassroots levels.
