Three Chinese nationals were arrested along the coast of Infanta, Quezon, on Tuesday for carrying illegal drugs and raw chemicals for making illegal drugs, officials said.
Excluding the raw materials, the seized shabu alone was considered the biggest haul in Calabarzon to date, the officials said. They did not say how much the shabu was worth.
The suspects were identified as Jhou Tian-You alias Pempao, Wang Ching-Huang alias Wang and Lin Ching-Wen alias Awon, along with a Filipina named Kimberly de Vera.
They were on board a motorized boat on the shoreline of Visayan Village in Dinahican when they were arrested.
De Vera claimed she met Tian-You on social media and that they had been together for barely a month. She said she was unaware of her boyfriend’s illegal activities.
The total haul included 23 containers and 10 sacks of shabu and some raw chemicals for manufacturing illegal drugs.
The operation was led by Police Supt. Reynaldo Ramos of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, PCI Lowell Atienza of the Infanta Police and personnel from the PNP Maritime Group and PDEA Region 4.
