The Pablo Lorenzo National High School and Davao City National High School are High School division heavy favorites in the 2nd PSC Inter-Public Schools Volleyball Tournament set to open at 9 a.m. today at the DCNHS along F. Torres St., Davao City.
PLNHS boys spikers play against Calinan NHS at 11 a.m. in pool A also composed of DCNHS and V. Nograles National High School.
DCNHS takes on VNNHS in the 10 a.m. opening match.
High School boys pool B consists of Doña Carmen Denia National High School, Catalunan Pequeño National High School, F. Bangoy National High School and Baguio NSAT.
Meanwhile, multi-titled DCNHS girls team will open its bid at 1 p.m. against Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School. Both teams are in pool B along with PLNHS and FBNHS.
In pool A are Baguio District, Crossing Bayabas NHS, Tagakpan NHS and Sta. Ana NHS. Teams in each pool will play against each other in the group eliminations to determine the top two teams that will enter the semifinals.
A coaches’ briefing was held Monday evening at a Davao City restaurant.
The PSC-organized volleyball competition, in partnership with the Sports Development Division-City Mayor’s Office and Department of Education Davao City, gives opportunity for public school teams to compete.
Cash prizes of P5,000, P4,000 and P3,000 will be awarded to the top three teams.
Davao Volleyball Association will officiate the High School category, while the Balibolista de Dabaw will manage the Grade School division.
