The law enforcement approach to fight criminal elements now needs a deeper participation of the community, especially the business sector.

The MMSSC is composed of police station and community precinct commanders, police intelligence and operations officials and security managers of different business establishment in the southern part of Metro Manila.
SPD director Tomas Apolinario, who was designated chairman of the MMSSC, said the committee was formed to enhance and strengthen the security and safety cooperation in the community.

In 2015, the government had introduced an anti-crime method dubbed as “Community and Service Oriented Policing” or CSOP which is being enforced through “teamwork” between local executives, the citizenry, and the integrated law enforcement agencies by way of program or project complementation and sharing of funds, personnel and logistics.
This approach builds and strengthens collaborative partnerships between the law enforcers and the community to promote peace and order, ensure public safety and strengthen local government for the effective delivery of basic services.
Meanwhile, authorities advised the public to be wary of criminal elements who are expected to go around commercial centers, public conveyances and other crowded areas as the Christmas season draws near.
The NCRPO ordered all district commanders — Central Police District, Northern Police District, Southern Police District, Eastern Police District and Manila Police District — to double their alert status in their respective areas of jurisdiction in anticipation of possible crimes to happen this holiday.
