THE Manila International Airport Authority has launched its new Point-to-Point (P2P) bus service, this time covering the Quezon City—Ninoy Aquino International Airport route.

Passengers from Araneta Center, Cubao can now travel to all Naia terminals and vice-versa for a fixed rate of P100.

P2P buses will be dispatched every two hours, with the first trip leaving Cubao at 7 am and the last trip leaving at 9 pm. Trips from Naia will leave at 5:30 am, with the last trip going to Cubao at 9 pm.

In February 2016, MIAA fielded 42 premium bus units to carry passengers going to and from the airports on a 24-hour basis. From Terminals 1, 2, and 3, the bus service have two routes, particularly going to Roxas Boulevard and the Makati Central Business District.

Along Roxas Boulevard, passengers will be able to board and descend from the bus at Midas Hotel, Hotel Jen, Manila Hotel, Mall of Asia, and the Entertainment City.

Passenger stops for Makati City include Glorietta 4 and 5, as well as Ascott Hotel.

The project, dubbed as Airport Bus Service, initiated by the Department of Transportation, is patterned after the Premium Point To Point (P2P) Bus Service along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue.

The government aimed to improve transportation services available for passengers at the Naia.

Each bus can accommodate 24 passengers and has large compartments for baggage.

The premium bus is equipped with closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV), Global Positioning System (GPS), and an on-board Wi-Fi facility.

An automated fare collection system will also be used to provide the option for advanced online booking.

The buses will be manned by trained drivers and an on-board transport attendant, similar to an airline flight attendant.

The government came up with the P2P scheme also to encourage private motorists to use the express buses as their alternative mode of transportation.
