Freebies for pupils

Makati Mayor Abigail Binay hands a set of school gear and supplies to a daycare pupil at the Carmona Covered Court on Tuesday, at the start of the three-day distribution to cover the 44 city-run Child Development Centers. Each of the 4,068 CDC learners will receive two sets of PE uniform (T-shirt and jogging pants), black leather shoes, rubber shoes and a school bag. Also in the photo are Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo and Ryan Barcelo, assistant department head of the Makati Social Welfare Department. To date, the city government through the MSWD operates 41 regular CDCs and three child minding centers located in various barangays, catering to 1,728 learners in District 1 and 2,340 in District 2.
