The local government of Caloocan City, under the leadership of Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan, has bagged the 2018 National Kabalikat Award for the National Capital Region.
The trophy and plaque of recognition were handed over by Undersecretary John Titus Vistal and Tesda Director General Guiling Mamondiong to Caloocan City Public Employment and Service Office Manager Violeta Gonzales, Labor Employment Officer Emilio Resuello II, and Tesda-Camanava officials at the Tesda Women’s Center in Taguig City on Thursday.
Among all cities and municipalities in Metro Manila, only Caloocan got the award, as the agency cited the city government for its exemplary support and cooperation to Tesda’s technical vocational education and training.
According to Tesda, the city government gives importance to the development of its constituents by upgrading of training facilities and equipment.
Malapitan assured that the local government of Caloocan will continue to provide services related to workforce development in the city.
“Providing opportunities for our constituents has been one of our top priorities,” the mayor said.
Aside from local government units, the Kabalikat Award is also being conferred to institutions, private firms, and legislative partners.
