One of the most difficult hurdles for athletes to overcome is making weight for competition, especially if one has a sweet tooth.
Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz likes to eat sweets—especially cheesecake—which she had to forego to maintain her weight. She clinched Philippines’ first gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games.
While her competitors in the 53kg category for women struggled to cut weight, she easily achieved her target thanks to a strict regimen, good planning, and a little help from Kaffea coffee which she drank regularly during her preparation for the games.
