Eastern Samar was struck by a 5.2-magnitude earthquake at 12:33 p.m. on Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.
Tectonic in origin, the center of the quake was located in Guiuan town, it said.

The Phivolcs said the center of the earthquake, which is tectonic in origin, was traced in Guiuan town and was felt at Intensity 2 in Borongan, Eastern Samar.
There were no reported damage but the Phivolcs said to expect aftershocks in the next few hours.
