‘Bagani’ finale hits Twitterverse by storm

Thousands of tweets rocked the social media platform Twitter as the curtain officially fell for the fantasy drama  Bagani, which drew positive reactions from the viewers.

The epic finale of the hit series shocked fans all over the world and they took to social media to express their heart-pounding sentiments for the series ender.

With the hashtag #BAGANIHulingLaban, the series’ finale generated 520,000 related tweets and set the second most tweeted episode of the series.  Bagani has brought a storm to the social media since its pilot episode in March.

Summing up its impact on Twitter, the series had produced 26 million tweets, based on the data from Twitter Philippines. The first episode of Bagani with the hashtag #UnangSabakngBagani garnered 600,000 tweets, which left fans startled with its laudable special effects and overall production.

Also, the March 14 episode with the hashtag #AngSimulangDigmaansaBAGANI got 250,000 tweets for its action-packed scenes; while 214,000 tweets were both grabbed by the March 21 with the hashtag #SiBabaylanNgBAGANI and the March 22 episode with the hashtag #ApoatSarimawNgBAGANI.

The action fantasy made Filipino fans gathered on Twitter to express their praises to the whole cast and production. Fans followed the story of Lakas (Enrique Gil) and Ganda (Liza Soberano) which are the most tweeted characters respectively, followed by Liksi (Zaijan Jaranilla), Lakam (Matteo Guidicelli), and the supervillain Sarimaw (Ryan Eigenmann).

Even before the finale, fans had been guessing possible endings of the fantasy series. They also looked back on their favorite moments in the series like the “Pamatay na Galawan” dance craze, which left a lot of fans amazed especially when the other Bagani did their own versions such as Liza’s Bboom Bboom style.

In addition, the series has proven the Filipinos’ attachment for local fantasy folk stories. The viewers commended the team and the actors for their stellar performance, which also showed values and learnings to everyone.

Even with a happy ending in Sansinukob where Lakas and Ganda have a beautiful family, a cliffhanger left the fans perplexed as the characters crossed to the modern world.

A sequel? A spinoff? Still, fans are left hanging.
