Little stars shine

It was a shining night for 6-year-old Aleynah Cassedine Redillas and Satriani Lancelot Acot, 7, when they were named winners of the SM Little Stars 2018 during the grand finals held recently at the Centerstage of SM Mall of Asia.

Redillas, who represented SM City Fairview, amazed the audience with her delightful performance of “Naughty” from Matilda the Musical. Acot, who represented SM City Bacoor, wowed the crowd with his dance moves to the tune of “Haypa” by MMJ.

Redillas and Acot bested 26 other finalists in the 12th edition of this annual nationwide search for cute, adorable, and talented kids. They each received a brand new Chevrolet Trax, P200,000 worth of cash and shopping money, a trip to China for two (including round-trip tickets, hotel accommodations, and tours), and a four-year college scholarship grant from National University.

Rounding up little stars who won in this year’s search were Isabela Espinosa of SM Southmall (first runner-up), Rhemaya Ruth Simpson of SM City Iloilo (second runner-up), and Sylvannah Jamie Manuelaurice Garcia of SM City Sta. Mesa (third runner-up). 

Winners were chosen by the distinguished board of judges which included movie actor John Arcilla, singer Sam Concepcion, dance master Mickey Perz, and beauty queen Winwyn Marquez. Finalists were judged based on star quality (40 percent), talent (40 percent), and personality (20 percent).
