Cavitex Infrastructure Corp., a unit of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., said it will submit a proposal to the Toll Regulatory Board by the end of this month to extend the Manila-Cavite Expressway from Kawit to Rosario in Cavite province.

“We just finished the feasibility study for Segment 5. We are delayed, we should have submitted our proposal to TRB last July, but we will try to submit it toward the end of August,” CIC president and chief executive Luigi Bautista said.

“We need to check the traffic numbers, we have to make sure that the project is financially viable before we submit it to TRB,” he added

Segment 5 of Cavitex is a 7.6-kilometer road that will link Kawit to Noveleta to Rosario in Cavite.

Bautista said the company would invest P22.5 billion for the extension of Cavitex to Rosario.

Cavitex is a 14-kilometer expressway linking Manila and Cavite.

MPTC South  earlier secured an original proponent status from the Department of Public Works and Highways for the P22.4 billion Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas Expressway Project.

CTBex is a 50.4-kilometer expressway that will connect Cavite and Batangas, with a spur road to Tagaytay City and ultimately terminating in Nasugbu, with another spur road to Tuy, Batangas. Once completed, the project would cut travel time from Sta. Rosa, Laguna to Nasugbu, Batangas from 2.5 hours to just an hour.

Construction of the project is expected to start by 2020, subject to the resolution of right-of-way. Completion date is set on 2022.

The project will start at Silang East Interchange of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway. The alignment will traverse the towns of Silang, Amadeo, Mendez, Alfonso and Tagaytay in Cavite and Nasugbu in Batangas.

MPTC South is also constructing the P35-billon CaLaEx”•a four-lane, 47-kilometer closed-system toll expressway connecting Cavitex and South Luzon Expressway.

The expressway will start from Cavitex in Kawit, Cavite and end at SLEx-Mamplasan Interchange in Biñan, Laguna.

The company is also building the P26-billion Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway project, an 8.25-km bridge that will connect Cebu City to Mactan Island via Cordova. The project is expected to be completed by 2020.
