Nine Lives

Stray cats look for food in garbage cans or rely on humans for their daily sustenance.

Nine Lives, the fundraiser for stray cats, was a success, thanks to a lot of cat lovers and artists/musicians.

To help stray cats, a music event called Nine Lives was held on July 27 in Quezon to gather donations of cat food and funds for those being fed and cared for by Cats of Technohub, a group of volunteers.

A benefit gig for stray cats of Technohub was made possible in cooperation with GigLab PH at The Naked Turtle Sports Diner in P. Tuazon Square, Cubao.

Great local acts such as Monopolo, Cinnamon Sundays, There's ERA, Vicente Couleur and Alfred Dalisay performed to help feed the strays.

Cat lovers also dropped by to show their support and bought cat food to donate.

Also, the volunteers of Cats of Technohub community sold merchandise to raise funds for the stray cats such as coin purse, pouch, and bag.

The proceeds from the activities will be saved for cat food and future projects for the cats such as spaying and neutering.

The volunteers were overwhelmed with delight when the sponsors of the event The Pet Street, Pet Club Manila and Petonix Poultry and Supplies donated sacks of cat food.

They are grateful for all the help given to the event by partners Ericka Aquino, Tricia Cuison, Lance dela Torre, Mac Villanueva, Sara España and Niña Castro who acted as the bridge to the sponsors.

The Cats of Technohub crew were given enough time during the event to promote their advocacies with the hashtags #AdoptDontShop and #SaveTheStrays.

If you are in Quezon City and want to de-stress by taking care of a pet, do adopt a cat from the list of strays up for adoption from this community. They are very active in social media and are present in all the platforms. Pictures of the cats that are up for adoption are also posted in their Facebook page, Cats of Technohub.

Anatole France quoted "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."

It is time for us to be fully awake and join the movement in saving the strays anywhere we go.
