President Rodrigo Duterte has restrained himself from cursing the chief of the United Nations Human Rights Council for fear that the donated choppers from Jordan may not be delivered to the Philippines.

Malacañang has earlier said that the Philippines will receive used US-built Cobra helicopter gunships donated by Jordan, marking the first time the country will operate dedicated attack helicopters.

The helicopters are Bell AH-1F Cobra gunships currently used by the Royal Jordanian Air Force and were offered to the Philippines sometime in 2017.

However, Duterte was wondering what happened to the choppers that Jordan pledged to donate to the Philippines.

The President joked that he might resume cursing at UNHRC chief Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein if Jordan won’t make good on his promise to donate choppers to the Philippines.

“Until now, there’s no helicopter. Be on guard sir, if this will not happen, I’ll continue to curse you,” Duterte said in a speech in Pasay.

Duterte has repeatedly criticized Zeid and other UN officials for constantly condemning alleged state-sanctioned killings” in the country ’s war against illegal drugs.
